What to do after you lose your job?

I am in my 30's. Have a loving family. Wife and 2 kids. Love what I do for a living. I have achievable dreams just like any other person. Humor is important in life. Introspection is essential with a little self deprecation. Sharing what I am going through and suggesting practical steps to take after you get a call or a letter saying you are not required at your job anymore.
